Gingerbread Kids!

This may be the only year I'll be able to dress my children in 'matchy matchy' outfits to meet Santa.  The outfits are made of brown corduroy and quilting cotton... Here's a photo from the very first visit with Santa Claus, EVER!  Enjoy!  I'm linking up with Sew Country Chick today, too; YAY!

Turkey shirts and a birthday surprise

The last week and a half had me quickly decide to make ribbon turkey shirts for Reed and Julia; which then led me to make shirts for a co-worker.  After showing off the shirts at school, I think I may have to subtly promote my applique ability... Quite a few people asked, "What are you making for Christmas?!?"  That got me thinking about mitten shirts; we'll see what kind of design I can come up with.  With that said, here are the turkey shirts!

Here's the other item I worked on this week: A Cookie Monster first birthday present!!  I hope our neighbor, James (and his parents, Aaron and Erin) like it!!!  This was the first time I hand stitched around an iron on applique and using fleece and felt to applique; it was nice to work on in the car!  Here's Cookie!
I hope you like these.  I can sew other things besides shirts... just check out my Christmas list!

Sweet Scallops Tote

So, I made this tote for Julia's ballet shoes and tap shoes... What do you think? I think she'll have the cutest dance bag in the whole class! Linking up, too!

hey there it's been a LOOOOOONG time

So, I'm just going to quickly type this... I ordered labels to put on my sewing creations! Isn't that exciting? Well it is for me! I hope everything works out, and the labels look cool! I can't wait to put them on R and J's clothes, gifts, etc...

Ok, so after MONTHS, that's all I've got.

packing it all in

Wow; I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed! Not that I have time to be on the computer blogging (ha ha ha). We leave for our trip to WDW in 9 days. R and J have all of their outfits, but they need to be packed. Ed and I have to pack, I have to make sure that I have all documents for the trip. Also, I can't forget any sundries, like baby food, diapers, wipes, bibs, blankets; etc., etc., etc! There's running to do (literally), paperwork and planning to do for school, and the usual stuff around the house. My, oh my! It will get done, and I won't stress... Let's not even think about Julia's third birthday three weeks after we come home! Oh, and I have to make a present for a babyshower that will occur the day after we arrive home from the trip... BUSY BUSY BUSY! Thanks for letting me get this out!

snow days = sew days

Today was my third snow day in a row. Julia loves snow days because that means it's not a work day!!! So, yesterday and today I worked on Julia and Reed's shirts for our "special trip" to "someplace special" in February. They're all finished, now I have to make pants/skirts to coordinate!
I also started making reversible bibs for both of my happy little travelers. Reed needs one and I'm making some for Julia so she doesn't stain the fancy shirts. I'm putting a layer of flannel in the middle of the bib for added absorbency... let's hope this works. Oh, and I'm working with my new little snap d00-hickey for the first time. We'll see how it goes!!!

best buddies

We've had Uncle Bobby join us for the last two Ravens' games... it's quite the fun time for Julia. J and UB are best buddies. He's such a willing playmate; yes, he' learning: Grasshopper.

So fun to have best buddies together!

Resolution

As the new year is in it's second day, and nearing it's third, I am stating one of my resolutions. I resolve to update/post on this blog at least once a week... Considering I haven't "blogged" since Memorial Day, this may or may not be difficult. Hopefully, I can jazz up some stuff on here, but I need to work on learning that, too!

So, here's to resolutions. Maybe I'll even share with you some other resolutions... we'll see, if I stick to this one!!!
